1:1 SEND Support
Individual support, built around your child.
Every child is different, and sometimes a smaller, more individual approach can make all the difference.
Through Together: One Step at a Time, I offer 1:1 play-focused support for children with additional needs, using their interests, strengths and individual needs as the starting point.
Sessions are relaxed, child-led and designed to help children feel safe, understood and successful.
How can I help?
1:1 sessions can support areas such as:
-
Speech, language and communication
-
Social interaction and turn-taking
-
Play skills and imagination
-
Emotional regulation
-
Attention and engagement
-
Fine motor skills and hand strength
-
Sensory exploration and sensory needs
-
Confidence and independence
-
Supporting transitions and changes
-
Developing play through your child’s interests
Sessions are play-focused, using activities and resources that are meaningful and motivating for your child.
What does a session look like?
There isn’t a set activity list because your child is at the centre of the session.
We might explore sensory play, Lego, role play, messy play, games, books, puzzles or a favourite interest — while naturally building opportunities for communication, interaction, problem-solving, motor skills and emotional regulation.
I can also use visuals, social stories and other supportive resources where appropriate.
After sessions, I provide parents/carers with feedback so you know what we have worked on, what your child enjoyed and any observations or ideas that may be useful to continue at home.
Who is it for?
My 1:1 support is suitable for children who may benefit from a little extra support with their development, communication, play, sensory needs or social interaction.
A formal diagnosis isn’t always needed. If you’re unsure whether Together could support your child, please get in touch for an informal chat.
A calm, supportive approach
There is no pressure for your child to perform, sit still or complete a set list of tasks.
I believe children learn best when they feel safe, comfortable and interested in what they’re doing.
Small steps matter — and sometimes those small steps are the biggest achievements.
